You’re recognizing employees, but do they actually feel appreciate

Let’s start with something simple. Most organizations  are  recognizing employees. There are shout-outs, awards, emails, maybe even a “great job” dropped into a meeting before everyone rushes to the next agenda item. On the surface, it looks like  employee recognition  is happening. But here’s the part that often gets missed. Recognition doesn’t automatically make people feel appreciated. Someone can hear praise and still walk away wondering whether anyone truly understands the effort behind that moment. And that feeling adds up. Let us dive in! Recognition is easy. Appreciation is where it gets real. Recognition is usually about what someone did. Hit a goal. Solved a problem. Went above and beyond.
